Texas Parks and Wildlife
January 11, 2012
Many of you have probably seen the television program, This Old House. The next job Air-Stream will tackle for Texas Parks and Wildlife certainly qualifies for that title. My information so far is that this house was built well over 100 years ago. It is located on the grounds of the LBJ State Park near Kerrville. This property was given to the state along with the land and has been empty for quite some time. We will begin work next week adding two new Trane super high efficiency heat pumps. This will be a very difficult job to tackle because of all the restrictions we must comply with due to the historical requirements. I will keep you up to date on how this project is progressing, but for now here are some pictures of the house and property.

Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary School
Air-Stream recently completed a job for the Edgewood School District changing out 17 rooftop units on time and on budget. This is the first job for this school district. We wanted to show them what kind of work we can do.
We started off behind the eight ball by losing one day of the five day budget we had due to bad weather. The school is located adjacent to the landing strip for Kelly City Base. This landing strip is for the military C5 cargo and the F16 fighter planes to practice their touch and goes. Just as we were setting up on the first day we got a phone call from our crane operator telling us that he would not be able to operate his crane at all that day because he got a phone call from the air field telling him that that due to the bad weather the planes were landing on full auto. That meant that the aircraft would not be able to dodge his big crane if needed.
That meant we only had 4 days to do the job instead of 5 days as planned. We had planned for every contingency except the weather. San Antonio had not seen rain for over 200 days and we were having the worst drought in history since 1955, so why should we think it would possibly rain on the day we would start the job----WRONG!
The next day the sun was out the crane was operating and we set 17 big roof tops in a record 6 hours. With a little luck and good planning all 17 roof tops were operating by Friday.
We are thankful that Edgewood School District selected Air-Stream to do the work. We were one of three contractors that were considered for the job and we gave them the best price and we hope they were able to see we can deliver.
We would like to show you what we can provide for your job - no matter how big or small, in the path of a landing strip or not. Call us at 210-533-4264 for a free estimate on your heating/cooling system.
